The September drop for UP is arguably their strongest collection since moving to the monthly drops. Japanese artist Usugrow is a key feature in this range and the news that UP is introducing the Shinganist range has been well received. The line will operate in a similar capactiy to their other subs Twelve Grain, SuperFishal, Estevan Oriol and 5024SF.
Derived from the Japanese word “Shingan,” (meaning mind’s eye), the line represents those people who create by seeing things in their mind’s eye and are not bothered or influenced by things around them. Inspired by underground Japanese lifestyle, Shinganist will feature the art of Usugrow, as well as guest artists. UP and Usugrow view the line as a vehicle to introduce a new generation of Japanese artists to the world. Given the success of the previous Usugrow designs, we’re really excited about the prospect of seeing more from him and his camp.
